My little biz hopes to get bigger

Happy holidays, friend!

Can you believe that Hanukkah is upon us and that Christmas is now just around the corner? This afternoon, I’ll be stuffing my fuzziest clothes into a carry-on so that I can hop over to New Jersey tomorrow morning to spend Christmas with my fam.

If you’re wondering what a Willsie family Christmas looks like, just think crackling fires, Gregorian chants, gathering eggs from the chicken coop for Christmas morning omelets, and monumentally epic gingerbread houses. Oh yes, we are a classy people.

In the hubbub of the season, I almost forgot to share a couple of exciting little things with you. First, I spent the last month crunching some numbers and making some business-y plans for 2012. And holy-moley, seriously guys I cannot thank you enough for making my first year in business this awesome. No, really. Two weeks ago I took my last order for 2011 — my last order in my first year as a working artist. It felt completely amazing, and I’m so overcome with gratitude for how you’ve helped me along the way. Your orders, your referrals, your kind blog comments and emails of support. You rock. And whether you realize what you’re doing or not, you’re making one little artist’s dream come true.

While I was in the process of dreaming up big plans for 2012, I stumbled upon this ridiculously sweet contest going on over at Oh My Handmade Goodness! Now, if you’ve been in business for over 6 months and you like the idea of a crazy-talented group of graphic designers, business coaches, and branding gurus helping you to take your biz to the next level, you might want to pop on over there and read about how to apply. There’s still 9 days to enter!

I submitted my own little video entry a few days ago, so wish me luck! I’ll, uh, share it with you if you promise to be nice. I’m a little camera shy…

During one of my business-brain-storming, big-planning-for-the-future sessions, I whipped up a fun little worksheet to help me keep track of my goals, month by month. (Yet another example of how you can be type-A and artsy-fartsy all in one!) I don’t know if you have any big plans for 2012, but if you’re looking for a nice way to keep track of them, feel free to use my worksheet!

If I don’t talk to you beforehand, have a warm, fuzzy and fun holiday!
