Yesterday, I returned from a whirlwind five day trip to San Francisco. And let me just say, that’s one heck of an amazing city. Here are a few snapshots of things we did on our trip…
We saw a couple of bridges. This first one was grey, and had two layers.
And this one was red.
We stopped at the Ferry Building and did our best to sample “one of everything.”
Breakfast that morning included iced New Orleans style coffee, a vanilla macaroon, dried fruit, a slice of fresh sourdough with cream cheese/smoked salmon/capers/onions, a brioche sandwich with fresh eggs and gruyere, hot chocolate, homemade yogurt with granola and roasted strawberries, crostini with white cheese and garlic scapes, and some toffee. Then I was full.
But don’t worry, we were hungry again by dinner time. One night, we tried Burmese food. Yum.
We walked up all sorts of steep hills and saw all sorts of colorful little houses. These ones in particular captured my imagination.
We saw strange knobby trees. They were tucked into parks.
And growing out of sidewalks. I think I got a little sad that there are no knobby trees in Chicago…Aren’t they adorably awkward?
We ate here. We even ordered off the secret menu. Oh yeah, this girl does her research.
This guy wanted a french fry and he wasn’t afraid to show it. I can’t say I blame him.
And, of course, I saw dogs of every shape and size. This one wanted a nap.
This one kind of reminded me of a mop. In a good way, of course.
It was this one’s birthday. I was tempted to sing.
I even got to meet one of my portrait subjects in person. That’s always fun. How’d I do?
It was a pretty amazing five-day adventure. Have you ever been to San Francisco? What did you do, and what did you think?

I love these pictures! You are so much fun!
Looked like an amazing trip! can’t wait to see you in June
